Every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday Hong Kong’s funniest are out on the local mic scene breaking in new material on stages across town. Catch the newest ideas from both seasoned performers and newbies alike.
Mondays – 8:30-10:30pm
Bar 109 – 109 Lockhard Road, Wan Chai
Verdict: A small backroom in a great dive bar. Cheap beers, intimate atmosphere where the comics can reach out and touch your funny bones right from the stage.
Trivia: Host to a 2 hour walk-in performance by Dave Chappelle in 2013
Wednesday – 8:30-10:30pm
Hong Kong Brew House – 19-21 D’Aguilar Street, Central (Lan Kwai Fong)
Verdict: Hong Kong’s favorite weekly comedy mic running five years strong. Great selection of global bottled and draft beers with classic pub fare to boot.
Trivia: The Hong Kong Brew House plays host to events most every night of the week, and is a good base for people watching in Lan Kwai Fong.
Thursday – 8:00-10:00pm
Morrison’s Cafe & Bar – 284 Queen’s Road Central, Central
Verdict: A great loft space with quality tunes and a funky vibe. One of the newest weekly comedy nights located away from the nightlife crowds.
Trivia: Salsa dancers pack the upper deck on Saturday nights.
